pong & pengo community project in public space

About pong & pengo

We are an interdisciplinary collective based in Munich. Drawing on our diverse backgrounds in visual arts, music, photography, and building culture, we collaborate with people of all ages to create art in public spaces. Our free, accessible projects bring generations together and foster new forms of community.

UFOs in Obersendling!

UFOs in Obersendling!

Instructions: SchlaU-Hocker

Note

SchlaU-Hocker

Note

...that was wild, nice and very tasty – three days of stool-building with the SchlaU students before the Pentecost holidays, with buzzing drills, a delicious Kabuli Pilau for a big joint final meal, and a lot of fun. A clever design transforms the stool into a clothes rack, a tea table, or simply a nice seat.

Preparations for Cloud≈Cornern

Note

Get ready for Kunst≈Cornern in the summer aka Cloud≈Cornern. We’ve fetched two sacks of raw wool from the sheep 💚 from Moriglhof and spent the weekend felting them in the sun. The first stones have been felted… and boom—glow merrily around the area. With the raw wool we want to design and work with you at the kiosk in July. Exciting and wonderful material that is usually discarded otherwise.

DER BERG

Note

We built the basic structure for an installation at the Münchener Biennale!

Tassenrecycling

Note

We dipped our toes into early experiments in upcycling or recycling broken (or ugly) mugs. So far as coasters, but perhaps also as a full tile table?

We were inspired by Trencadís, something you can find a lot of, for example, in Valencia and Barcelona

Building Culture Workshop

Building Culture

We build together with local people and playfully appropriate public space in the process. In our workshops, for example, we create stools, seating, tables and other objects that enliven the urban space. It's not just about craftsmanship, but above all about collectively shaping spaces and experimenting with new forms of coexistence.

Art in public space

Art

We make art in urban spaces – together, openly and with whatever is available. In our workshops, we sew, carve, print and play with materials. From fabric, wood, paint or Lego, we create places of encounter and appropriation – for everyone who wants to participate.

Music Workshop

Music

Discovering the sound in everyday things: Using wood, recycled materials, and anything that resonates, we create collaborative sound sculptures. Our kiosk transforms into an interactive soundscape—a place for everyone to experiment and discover new sounds.
