Experts will recognize the type designation E87 - for our Kiosk, we wanted to make technical improvements using gas springs that would open all the windows automatically.
Experts are familiar with the model designation E87 („Host du a an 87er”), but until recently, the term was unknown to me. For our Kiosk, we wanted to make a few technical improvements this year. One of these concerns the use of gas springs, which should open all the windows automatically, as if by magic.
Unlike in 2024, we wanted to replace the provisional lathing construction with a better structure.
I picked up a bunch of E87 gas springs, both 350N and 400N, via Kleinanzeigen. That's enough for all the windows and works great with the corresponding bracket little-things.
The only thing is that installing them and aligning them to the right angles and the proper opening height of the window is a real pain. But through trial and error, we managed to get it working quite well.
Alongside the E87s, we have also installed new gas springs with 100Nm. The smaller ones are perfect for lighter flaps and doors.
In the Südpark quarter in Obersendling, we built flying objects and UFOs together with Raumfragen.
As summers continue to get hotter, shade becomes especially important on a PONG day. We drew inspiration from Jogakbo patchwork and sewed our very own sun sails.
