E87er - Gas pressure springs for the Kiosk

Professionals know the model designation E87 ("Host du a an 87er"), though that label was unknown to me until recently. For our kiosk this year we wanted to make a few technical improvements. One of them involves using gas springs so that all the windows open automatically, like magic. Unlike in 2024, we wanted to replace the provisional lath roof construction with a better one.

Through classifieds I grabbed a batch of E87 gas springs, 350 and 400 N. That’s enough for all the windows and, with the corresponding mounting nub adapters, they work great. The only annoying part is mounting and aligning them to the correct angles and the right opening height of the window. By trial and error we managed to get it fairly well.

Besides the E87s, we installed new gas springs with 100 Nm. The smaller ones are perfect for lighter flaps and doors.
