Tree PONG II

PONG-Beach at Platz der Menschenrechte

To mark the end of the school year, we returned to Platz der Menschenrechte with Kiosk PONG. This time, not down on the grass, but — luckily — on the upper gravel area beneath the pines. Because while we would have been sinking into the mud on the grass in the rain, here, all around the Kiosk, there were only giant puddles: PONG-beach.

At PONG-beach, as with Tree PONG II, tree trunks from the Isar were once again transformed into a variety of objects. For example:

Spider-like tables with carved legs

A ladder made only of split wood, without screws or nails

Several hammers, as they couldn't endure the splitting forever

A bench made of recycled wood from our last action in Daglfing

– Why, after all, did nobody build a boat?

Those who didn't want to build could try their hand at the sewing machine or at painting and printing on textiles. Printing with found objects like pine cones produced particularly amazing effects!

Or simply drilling! Even the younger children had great fun, equipped with drills, boring holes through logs and transforming them into insect hotels.

Especially during the first three days with slightly more rain breaks, our self-built Ping-PONG table hardly ever came to a rest, and Tree PONG II became a place where everyone could be creative without any consumption requirements, or even just hang out – thanks in part to Vallis delicious almond cookies, for whose recipe we were asked several times.
